How to accept the Minecraft EULA on your server
Your Minecraft server stops on first start until you accept Mojang's EULA. Here is how to accept it on Schokr and what eula.txt does.

A Minecraft Java server will not finish starting until you accept Mojang's End User License Agreement (EULA). On Schokr, the console links to the EULA the first time you start the server so you can read and accept it.
Why the server stops
On first start, the server creates a file called eula.txt and then shuts down with a message like this:
[ServerMain/INFO]: You need to agree to the EULA in order to run the server. Go to eula.txt for more info.
This is normal. Nothing is broken; the server is waiting for you to agree.
Accept it from the console
- Open your server in the Schokr console and go to the console.
- Start the server.
- When the EULA prompt appears, read the linked agreement and accept it.
- Start the server again if it does not start by itself. It should now continue to generate the world.
Accept it manually with eula.txt
If you prefer, or if the prompt does not appear, you can edit the file directly:
- Open the file manager and find
eula.txtin the root folder of your server. - Change the last line from
falsetotrue:
#By changing the setting below to TRUE you are indicating your agreement to our EULA (https://aka.ms/MinecraftEULA).
eula=true
- Save the file and start the server.
If eula.txt does not exist yet, start the server once so it is created, or create it yourself with the single line eula=true.
What the EULA means for you
The Minecraft EULA covers how you may use the game and run servers. A few points that matter for server owners:
- You can run a server for free and play with friends.
- If you monetize a server, Mojang's commercial usage guidelines limit what you can sell (for example, you should not sell items that give players a gameplay advantage).
- Read the full text at aka.ms/MinecraftEULA.
Still stopping after accepting?
- Check that the file is named exactly
eula.txtand sits in the server root, not inside a subfolder. - Make sure the line reads
eula=truewith no spaces or quotes. - If the server stops for a different reason, read the last red lines in the console. Ask in the Schokr Discord with that output if you are unsure.
